2024 National Presidents’ and Chairs’ Retreat

Recently, presidents from their university’s medical student societies and chairs from their state’s medical student councils from around the country came together on the Central Coast in New South Wales for the annual Presidents’ and Chairs’ Retreat, hosted by the Australian Medical Students’ Association.
It was an opportunity to hear from medical leaders around the country, such as Peter Baume AC, and connect with peers to discuss the advocacy agenda for medical students in different states and at different universities.
The Australian Medical Council also presented and shared some guidance around university accreditation submissions, as well as ways for students to engage with the Medical Board of Australia and the AMC in the future.
In WA, we are looking forward to where the year takes us for students, and enjoyed the retreat as a fantastic opportunity to unite nationally and connect with medical student leaders around the country.
