AMA (WA) Council welcomes new members

With the start of the new year and the conclusion of terms, the AMA (WA) Council has undergone several changes. This includes leadership updates within our Practice Groups, and notably, the first meeting of the refreshed Rural Doctors Practice Group at our dedicated General Practice meeting.

We warmly welcome the following new members to the Council:

  • Dr Paddy Glackin – Chair, Rural Doctors Practice Group
  • Dr Mary Wyatt – Chair, GP Practice Group (continuing as a councillor in a new role)
  • Dr Rebecca Anglin – Head of Medical School, University of Notre Dame
  • Dr Helen Wilcox – Interim Dean, UWA Medical School
  • Sanjeev Singh – President, Medical Students’ Council of WA (continuing as a councillor in a new role)
  • Ollie Smith – President, MSAND (Notre Dame)
  • Shreya Salunkay – President, CAMS

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the outgoing councillors for their dedication and contributions:

  • Dr Peter Maguire – Former Chair, Rural Doctors Practice Group
  • Dr Simon Torvaldsen – Former Chair, GP Practice Group
  • Dr Merrilee Needham – Former Head of Medical School, University of Notre Dame
  • Dr Brendan McQuillan – Stepping down from Council to assume the role of Dean, Global MD, UWA Medical School
  • Dr Haseeb Riaz – Former President, MSCWA
  • Dr Jack Murray – Former President, MSAND
