MEDCON Workshop Series 2024 launch a resounding success

With many engaged participants across three workshops in November, the MEDCON Workshop Series 2024 has brought together doctors and medical professionals to equip them with new skills and experiences in everything from innovation and leadership to hands-on practice and techniques.
This new format from the AMA (WA) replaces the previous MEDCON Conference with focused, bite-sized sessions designed to support medical professionals’ development and fit into their busy schedules.
The series opened with the Complexity Leadership & Systems Thinking workshop on Saturday 2 November. Healthcare leaders explored strategies to tackle the complexities of modern healthcare, from adapting to emerging technologies to fostering innovation and creating high-performing teams. The session equipped attendees with the tools and frameworks needed to navigate leadership challenges effectively.
The sessions continued with the Perth Biodesign Bootcamp: Clinical Innovation & Entrepreneurship on Friday and Saturday 8 – 9 November. This two-day workshop focused on innovation in healthcare, encouraging participants to think creatively about clinical challenges. Led by expert speakers, the bootcamp offered practical insights into turning innovative ideas into actionable solutions, making it an ideal event for aspiring healthcare entrepreneurs.
On Friday 22 November, the third workshop in the series, the ASSURE Hands-On Acute Care Procedural Workshop, focused on clinical confidence and essential acute care techniques. Guided by the experienced MedSkillz Education Group, hospital doctors and GPs improved their skills in airway management, advanced circulation techniques, and other critical procedures through interactive simulations and hands-on practice.
